Photographing a Columbus, Ohio non-profit: L4 in Linden

A Columbus, Ohio non-profit that is thriving

Contrary to what we hear everyday on the news, there is life-changing work happening daily in Columbus! In early February, I had a the privilege of documenting the great work happening at L4 (Linden Life Learning and Literacy).

L4 is a nonprofit focused on literacy, personal growth, and spiritual development for students, particularly in the Linden community. The program serves children as young as preschool, helping them improve reading skills, emotional coping, and overall academic performance. L4 partners with Windsor STEM Academy and provides personalized mentoring to students. In addition to academic support, the program emphasizes spiritual education, teaching children about God’s Word and fostering a sense of purpose. L4 also aims to expand its services to reach more students and families in the future.

L4 is run by an amazing team- from picking up the children, to feeding, to tutoring, and more— there are many hands involved in this great work!

Why I choose to photograph non-profits

I feel most fulfilled when I am using my gift of photography to bless others. I particularly love documenting children as they are usually uninhibited by my camera. It’s a goal of mine to continue to work with child-centered non-profit organizations in the Columbus, Ohio area.

It was a great joy to photograph the important work happening at L4, as I have a personal connection with the organization, and I hope my images help to further their mission!
